We understand that receiving unfamiliar charges can be upsetting. That’s why we prepare this guide to help you. Here are some common reasons why you may have received a charge from EOwn and what you can do if this happens.

Your Freemium plan exceeds its limit

As a new user, you are offered a Freemium plan. When the Free plan exceeds its limit, you’ll be moved to a paid plan. EOwn Pro Subscription automatically renewed. If you took this offer and didn’t cancel before it ended, we’ll charge you for the subscription.

You may have more than one EOwn account

You may have created more than one EOwn account and the charge was from your one of them. Check if you’ve signed up using different email addresses (e.g. personal vs. work emails) or through your Facebook or Google account.
In this case, try logging into all the possible account and check for invoices by navigating to Settings > Plan & Billing. When you find out which account is being charged, you can do the following:

  • Cancel the current subscription
  • Remove your payment method. Read our guide here.

If you can’t remember your login details for your other accounts, click Forgot Password from the login page and follow the instructions to reset your password.
If you’re unable to find the account being charged, contact our Support Team here.

You added someone to your team

When you’re subscribed to a Pro plan and you add someone to your team, they receive the subscription as well. This will result in a charge to your account if you are the team owner or administrator.
If your team member already has a Pro subscription, you’ll still be charged for their Pro membership on your team because Pro teams are billed separately.

You were charged earlier than you expected

The time zone for our payment system is GMT. We also bill you one day ahead of time. You'll be charged on the 30th if you're on a monthly plan with a 31st billing date (and on the 28th in February).

A team member used your stored payment method

As a team owner or administrator, your payment method can be used by members of your team. Depending on your settings, they can use your stored payment methods to upgrade their subscriptions. In this case, check your team invoices to verify.
To prevent this from happening again, you can set purchase limits for your team. You can also remove the stored payment method as long as the team doesn’t have an ongoing subscription. If your team does not have an ongoing subscription, you can also remove the stored payment method.

Credit card authentication charge

Credit card authentication is the process of confirming the validity of your card with your issuing bank. As a result, you may notice minor charges on your bank statement.

Let’s sum it up!

There are many reasons why you may receive an unfamiliar charge from EOwn. It could be because your Free plan expires, you added someone to your team, your billing cycle recharges earlier, or your card charges for authentication. If you’ve checked all of the reasons mentioned above and still can’t find your own answer, contact our support team here. We’re more than willing to help you out!
